Rooted Dev Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit rooteddevstudio.com, submit an inquiry, purchase or license software, request support, or use customer and license tools.
Information we collect
Project and contact inquiries
When you send a project inquiry, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include your name, email address, company or organization, website, project type, platform, desired timeline, and project details. We use this information to review the inquiry, communicate with you, and evaluate the requested project. Submitting an inquiry does not enroll you in marketing messages.
Shopify project qualification
The Shopify project qualifier may collect business and contact details; current website, ecommerce platform, Shopify store, and point-of-sale information; approximate sales, catalog, market, location, and register ranges; integration and operational needs; budget and timing; a project description; and whether the business has spoken with Shopify Sales. We use these details to evaluate the requested Shopify development work and identify an appropriate next step.
The Shopify Plus and Shopify POS forms require separate permission to contact the submitter and permission to share submitted business, contact, and project information with Shopify when necessary to evaluate or refer the project. We share it with Shopify only when that explicit authorization is provided. Authorization does not enroll the submitter in marketing messages and does not guarantee Shopify Plus, Shopify POS Pro, or referral eligibility. Shopify handles information it receives under the Shopify Privacy Policy.
Support requests
Support requests may include your name, email address, product, website, WordPress and PHP versions, error details, and other information you choose to provide. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, API keys, private customer data, or other secrets.
Purchases, accounts, and licenses
For software purchases and customer tools, we process information needed to fulfill and manage the purchase. This may include the purchase email, product, transaction status, Stripe customer, checkout, payment, and subscription identifiers, license status, a protected hash and last four characters of a license key, activation limits, activated website URLs, download eligibility, recovery activity, and refund status.
Refund and recovery requests
A refund request includes the customer’s name, purchase email, license information, reason for the request, status, and timestamps. License recovery uses the purchase email and short-lived verification links. These processes are rate-limited and may use protected technical identifiers to reduce abuse.
Rooted Forms data
Forms submitted on this website are stored in this WordPress installation with the entered fields, source page, submission time, and limited technical metadata. Visitor IP addresses are currently anonymized before form metadata is stored. The site currently has no form webhook configured and does not use form submissions for automatic marketing enrollment.
Rooted Forms installed on a customer’s own website stores that customer’s form submissions in the customer’s WordPress database. Rooted Dev Studio does not receive those submissions by default. A customer controls its own notifications, webhooks, retention settings, and privacy obligations.
Technical and security information
Our website, hosting provider, and security tools may process IP addresses, request information, browser and device details, referring pages, timestamps, error records, rate-limit identifiers, and security events to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the site. Rooted Security and Rooted Security Pro store their security evidence locally in the WordPress installation and do not include product telemetry to Rooted Dev Studio.
How we use information
- Review inquiries and communicate about potential development work.
- Provide checkout, protected downloads, license activation and verification, updates, recovery, subscriptions, refunds, and customer-account tools.
- Provide product support and troubleshoot reported issues.
- Operate, secure, maintain, and improve the website and products.
- Prevent fraud, spam, abuse, and unauthorized use of customer credentials.
- Maintain business records and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Payments and Stripe
Checkout and billing are handled through Stripe-hosted services. Stripe receives payment and transaction information under its own terms and privacy practices. Rooted Dev Studio does not receive or store your complete payment-card number. Depending on the checkout configuration and payment method, Stripe may act as payment processor or merchant of record. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy for details.
Service providers and disclosures
We share information only as reasonably needed with providers that help operate the website and business, such as Stripe, website hosting, and email-delivery providers, and with Shopify when a Shopify Plus or Shopify POS submitter has given the separate authorization described above. Our GoDaddy hosting environment injects traffic-measurement code and may automatically process information such as IP address, requested and referring pages, browser or device details, and timestamps under the GoDaddy Global Privacy Notice. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive ordinary request and device information when the font files are delivered. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information.
Cookies and similar technologies
WordPress and integrated services may use cookies or similar technologies when needed for administration and sessions, security, forms, account and license workflows, commerce, and hosting-provider traffic measurement. Stripe may use its own cookies and similar technologies on Stripe Checkout, Link, or the Stripe customer portal.
Rooted Dev Studio has not configured Google Analytics, Google Ads tracking, advertising pixels, or other marketing analytics on this site. If a later implementation materially changes collection or consent requirements, this policy will be updated before or with that change.
Retention
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including providing products and support, maintaining license and transaction records, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, and meeting legal, tax, or accounting requirements. Retention varies by record type. Rooted Forms on this site is currently configured without automatic age-based deletion; privacy requests are reviewed against legal and operational retention needs.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we control, subject to verification and applicable legal or operational requirements. WordPress privacy tools support export and erasure of Rooted Forms submissions associated with an email address. To make a request, contact Rooted Dev Studio.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children’s privacy
The website, products, and services are directed to businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, products, service providers, or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current published version.
